LONDON WIDE U3A LGBTQ GROUP
A LGBTQ+ Social Group (London wide) was set up in December 2017 following a good response to an article in Winter's TAM magazine. The group is run from Wandsworth U3A to comply with the rules of the U3A and because the founding member (Maggie) is a member of that particular U3A. The group is a cross borough networking group so there is no need to join Wandsworth U3A if you wish to attend. We meet on the last Tuesday of each month in central London. The emphasis will be networking, supporting each other and enjoying social time together. We will also be studying LGBTQ+ history so that we can better understand the impact that law, culture and attitude has had on our community over the years. We will also be doing trips to art galleries, museums and events. The group is primarily for U3A members who identify themselves as Lesbians, Gay men, Bisexual, Transexual, questioning and for those who don't quite fit into the acronym (LGBTQ+). The group is, however, an open group. U3A friends and allies of the LGBTQ+ community will also be made very welcome!
