Our Gardening Group met in the afternoon of 27 September 2023 for an update on the work that needs to be done at this time of year.

We got news of special discounts being offered by some companies on bulbs for next Spring, and how best to take advantage of the offers. There was also a discussion of Trigidias (Tiger Flowers) and a “Bulb Lasagne”, where different flowering bulbs are planted in a container at different depths so that an amazing display can be obtained.

We also had a regime for the improvement of grass lawns at this time of year, as well as what cuttings can be taken at this time of year and how best to take them. We finished with a short introduction to dividing perennial plants.

All told, this was a valuable and worthwhile session.
